The CLPB 2022 South division all-star roster and starters have been announced. The South division includes the Palm Beach Snowbirds, Elite Squad, Parkland Sharks, Palm Beach Marlins and the Primal 9 Kings. The all-star game will take place this Friday at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches Stadium.
The Palm Beach Snowbirds will have two pitchers participating in the all-star game. Pitcher/first baseman Brant Kragel (Walters State) made the team with a .308 batting average, three RBIs, one run scored and four walks through 10 games this summer. Pitcher Brandon Demma (Wagner University) also made the team with a 1.50 ERA, four earned runs, 15 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 1-0 record through 6 appearances in 24 innings this summer.
The Elite Squad will have five players and two starters in the all-star game on Friday. Pitcher/infielder Griffin Hugus (University of Cincinnati) will start at third base for the South, and has a .436 batting average, 21 runs scored, 14 RBIs, 13 walks and nine stolen bases through 20 games this summer. Hugus also has 33 strikeouts and 16 walks allowed in 21.2 innings this summer. Jackson Hugus (Western Illinois University) will be the starting catcher for the South and has a .375 batting average, 11 runs scored, 12 RBIs, nine walks and three stolen bases through 20 games this summer. Raul Guillermo (Monmouth College) will be the starting first baseman for the South with a .295 batting average, 15 runs scored, four home runs, 14 RBIs and six walks through 20 games this summer. Taylor Clapp (Flagler College) will be the starting second baseman and has a .286 batting average, 10 runs scored, one home run, 18 RBIs, 10 walks and one stolen base through 18 games this summer. Pitcher Ethan Kramer (LaGrange University) will represent the Elite Squad with a 0.71 ERA, one earned run, 13 strikeouts, five walks and a 1-0 record in seven appearances through 12.2 innings this summer. Tyler Murphy (Florida Atlantic University) will make an appearance at pitcher for the South, and has a 2.34 ERA, two earned runs, 10 strikeouts and two walks in two appearances through 7.2 innings this summer.
The Parkland Sharks will have six players and three starters in the all-star game for the South division. Derek Bolander (Ohio Dominican University) will be the starting pitcher for the South, and has a 0.00 ERA with 17 strikeouts, four walks and a 1-0 record in nine appearances through 10 innings this summer. Nick Nevins (LeMoyne College) will start at shortstop in the all-star game, and has a .350 batting average, 18 runs scored,14 RBIs, 12 walks and six stolen bases through 18 games this summer. Infielder Andrew Curran (Neumann University) will start at DH for the South, and has a .421 batting average, 20 runs scored, 18 RBIs, 28 walks and three stolen bases through 23 games this summer. Catcher Dalton Groves (Georgetown College) made the all-star team with a .429 batting average, two runs scored, four RBIs and three walks through 13 games this summer. Outfielder Gabe Sanders (Central Alabama Community College) will play in the all-star game with a .263 batting average, 12 runs scored, one home run, 10 RBIs, seven walks and two stolen bases through 18 games this summer. Pitcher Nick Rivera (Slippery Rock University) made the all-star team with a 3.50 ERA, 10 earned runs, 30 strikeouts, five walks and a 2-1 record in seven appearances through 25.2 innings this summer.
The Palm Beach Marlins will have five players and two starters in the all-star game for the South division. Garrett Bradley (Georgia SW State University) will start in the outfield, and has a .417 batting average, 14 runs scored, 15 RBIs, 10 walks and two stolen bases through 18 games this summer. Michael Uz (Nova Southeastern University) will be a starting outfielder for the South division with a .333 batting average, eight runs scored, six RBIs, five walks and two stolen bases through 10 games this summer. Infielder Wilder Puertas (Uncommitted) will play in the all-star game with a .385 batting average, 12 runs scored, nine RBIs and 13 walks through 13 games this summer. Pitcher Guillermo Garcia (Palm Beach State College) will play in the all-star game, and has a 1.42 ERA, three earned runs, 29 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 2-0 record in 4 appearances through 19 innings this summer. Richie Pena (Florida International University) will also pitch in the all-star game with a 4.28 ERA, 10 earned runs, 19 strikeouts and six walks in five appearances through 21 innings this summer.
The Primal 9 Kings have four players selected and one starter in the all-star game. Julio Acosta (Keystone College) will start in the outfield for the South, and has a .296 batting average, 18 runs scored, one home run, five RBIs, 19 walks and two stolen bases in 19 games this summer. Catcher Maxwell Baldaccini (Georgetown College) will play in the all-star game with a .344 batting average, 11 runs scored, one home run, 11 RBIs and 12 walks through 19 games this summer. Pitchers Jacob Roberts (Northeast Community College) and Antonio Rolle (Atlantis University) were also selected to the South division all-star team.
The South division will be coached by Parkland Sharks hitting coach Matt Sheely. The all-star game will be this Friday at 10:00 a.m.
