Ruben Someillan will be entering into his first-year coaching in the CLPB as he will take charge of the Jupiter Wave in the summer of 2022. Someillan has deep roots to baseball in the Sunshine State as a successful player and now as an Assistant Coach at NCAA Division 2 program NOVA Southeastern University.
Someillan comes to NSU following a five-year career at Jacksonville, leaving the Dolphins among the program’s all-time leaderboard in games played (239), at-bats (863), and leads in hit-by-pitches (33). During his redshirt-senior season in 2021, Someillan started all 50-games for JU, setting a program record of reaching base safely in 49 consecutive games. He hit 0.293, with six doubles, two home runs, and added 19 RBI, leading the club with 18 multi-hit games and three-hit games (5).
In the shortened 2020 season, Someillan started all 18 games for JU, tallying five multi-hit games, finishing second on the team in at-bats (63), and played error-free baseball the entire season. Someillan also went through his entire college career without making an error.
Someillan capped off the 2018 season with ASUN All-Tournament Team, going 5-14 with four runs scored and recorded six RBI in the ASUN Conference Tournament. In his freshman season, Someillan was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, starting 42 games, while batting 0.310 with 48-hits, driving in 15 and scoring 23 runs. During the 2019 season, Someillan was also recognized on ESPN and making sports center top 10 (3) after robbing a homerun against the Florida gators.
The CLPB is excited to welcome Coach Someillan to the league and look forward to seeing him lead the Jupiter Wave in 2022 as they look to defend the league crown from last season!
