Elite Squad defeated the North Palm Beach Flamingos 7-2 on Tuesday.
The Flamingos took an early lead in the second inning. They scored one run when Carson Seeman singled.
Elite Squad took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Pete Komaroski induced Stephen Bartolotta to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, David Smigelski doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, and Drew Beno singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Elite Squad put up three runs in the fifth inning. Their big inning was driven by a walk by Connor Wilt, a single by Smigelski, and a sac fly by Beno.
Gavin Smith got the win for Elite Squad. Smith went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three. Bartolotta threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Komaroski took the loss for the North Palm Beach Flamingos. Komaroski surrendered six runs on six hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
Richard Daronco started the game for the North Palm Beach Flamingos. The bulldog went one inning, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out one.
Smigelski led Elite Squad with two hits in three at bats. Elite Squad was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Beno had the most chances in the field with six.
Pedro Figueroa went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the North Palm Beach Flamingos in hits. The North Palm Beach Flamingos was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Drew Cavanaugh made the most plays with seven.
