Carter Brady is returning to CLPB this year for his second season. The 6’2” center fielder will be playing for the Jupiter Wave this summer. He said that he had a ton of fun last year, meeting a lot of great people and making a lot of friendships with other players and coaches.
Brady seems himself as a player that is very hard working and mentally strong. He loves the competition against other great talent. He has so much fun competing, the love of baseball is evident, and he has so much fun doing what he’s doing.
Brady had played his freshman season at the University of South Carolina Upstate, but has since entered the transfer portal. He felt that the situation just wasn’t quite right for him so he’s decided to look elsewhere. He’s stated that he would like to go to a junior college to continue his collegiate play, with the hopes of being able to play baseball professionally.
Brady’s goals this season are pretty much in line with his experience last year, make more friends and try to help get recruited. Carter has said that he’s less concerned with his counting stats and would rather create and improve relationships in and around baseball. CLPB is another great opportunity to do that.
When asked why he joined CLPB in the first place, Brady said that it’s easy because it’s close to home. He’s a native of Parkland, Florida, so Jupiter is right in his backyard. Being able to stay close to home makes it easier to train and compete against high quality talent. The competition level is very high, which is very intriguing for Carter.
Finally, I asked Carter what he would say to some of the incoming first year players. He recalled his experience last year, saying that had put a lot of pressure on himself early on. Once he got more comfortable, he started to relax and just play baseball. His advice would be to just have fun and play baseball, don’t try so hard that it becomes frustrating if you don’t have success early.
Carter Brady is poised to have a fun and productive summer for the Jupiter Wave in his second season in CLPB.
