The Parkland Sharks weathered a scare by the North Palm Beach Flamingos in the sixth inning where the Sharks coughed up four runs, but they still won 15-5 on Monday. The offensive firepower displayed by the North Palm Beach Flamingos was led by Jeremy Wagner and Kaden Dewey, all knocking in runs in the inning.
The Parkland Sharks got things moving in the second inning, when Andrew Bianco hit a solo homer.
The Parkland Sharks notched six runs in the fifth inning. Eddie Novoa, Jude Perea, Rafael Diaz, Drew Jemison, Jordan King, and Bianco each drove in runs during the inning.
Jared Miller got the start for the Sharks. The fireballer surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Ayden Head was on the pitcher’s mound for the North Palm Beach Flamingos. The hurler surrendered five runs on three hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Daniel Ramos and Jon Koehn entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
The Parkland Sharks socked two home runs on the day. Bianco had a four bagger in the second inning. King had a dinger in the third inning.
The Sharks collected eight hits on the day. Jemison and Bianco each racked up multiple hits for the Sharks. Bianco and Jemison all had two hits to lead their team. The Parkland Sharks didn’t commit a single error in the field. Michael Nee had the most chances in the field with nine.
The North Palm Beach Flamingos was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Alfredo Hurtado made the most plays with seven. The North Palm Beach Flamingos tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Jared Whittle led the way with two.
