Coach Steve Proteau will be returning for his 3rd season in the CLPB, Coaching the Vipers. In the first two seasons Steve has compiled the highest winning percent, with a record of 28-19. In 2020 Steve coached the Vipers to a Co- Championship. In 2021 Steve coached the Vipers to a semi final appearance and coached the North Allstar Team for a win at the CLPB Allstar game.
This will be Steve’s 5 year with the Vipers Baseball Club organization. Where he works with hitters and pitchers on the summer and fall HS showcase teams. When Coach Steve isn’t working with the Vipers, he is a private Pitching and Hitting trainer where his mental and physical training is based on each individual athlete and not a one size fits all approach. Over the last 6 years Coach Steve has helped 35 athletes earn College Scholarships, including 15 Pitchers topping the 90mph plateau.
In 2020/2021 Steve was the Hitting and pitching coach for SW Centennial HS in Port St Lucie, FL.
Steve was a left-handed pitcher that went on to play College Baseball for the Juco defending National Champions Norwalk Community College in CT. An arm injury caused Steve to transfer to Western CT State University where he was DH batting 3rd while Majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.
Joining Head Coach Steve Proteau on the Vipers Coaching Staff this summer will be Palm Beach State College Assistant Coach Jason Aponte. Coach Jason currently assists the PBSC Panthers by working with the outfielders, hitters and baserunners.

Coach Jason is a graduate of Seminole Ridge HS. He went on the play 2 years at Snead State CC in Alabama for Coach Underwood and 2 seasons at Felician University in New Jerseys for Coach Langan. Aponte earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Felician University. After college ball, Jason earned the honors to play professionally in the Empire League in 2019, 2020 (Covid did not play) and in 2021 the United Shores league. Jason accepted the position with Palm Beach State College in 2022.
Coach Jason’s has been coaching with the Vipers Baseball Club organization for 3 years. When he is not coaching for Palm Beach State College or Vipers Baseball he also coaches at Cressey Sports Performance.
In 2018 Jason played in the CLPB for the Vipers and was one of the league’s leading hitters.
