With the new season almost underway for the CLPB, it means that new faces are also joining for the first time. One of those new players for the Palm Beach Snow Birds is an electric Pitcher/Infielder, Garrett Palladino. He is a native from Moore Haven, Florida and currently garnering a lot of attention at Alcorn State. So, this past week I was able to have an interview with Garrett learning more about his history with baseball and what his expectations for the season are.
What was the moment that made you fall in love with baseball?
Palladino: I wouldn’t say a moment, but I feel like playing baseball just showed at a young age that it’s a game where you can go out there and have fun.
Who is your favorite baseball player of all time and why?
Palladino: All time, I gotta go with my man Derek Jeter. Well, my Dad bought me a Derek Jeter jersey when I was little. And, he played shortstop and he wore number two. So, I just always followed him ‘til he retired.
What was the best piece of baseball advice that you’ve been given?
Palladino: Listen. I heard this one from one of my travel ball coaches. God gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason. So, the more you listen, the better you will do.
What are you looking forward to the most being in the CLPB?
Palladino: Just competition and working hard. The goal for me is to try and get to the league. So, hopefully I can impress a couple people and they can make a couple calls. And, we can get rocking.
What are you going to be working on the most this summer?
Palladino: Getting stronger. Well, I’m doing the Cressey performance training and try to get a little more weight on me and get stronger.
What is your favorite baseball movie?
Palladino: I would go “The Final Season”. Because it was a small town school, and that’s where I’m from a small town school. It was one last season to win a championship and they won it. And, their school got closed down.
What is your favorite baseball stadium food?
Palladino: Corn Dog, you can’t go wrong with a corn dog.
