The Palm Beach Marlins had no trouble on offense today, winning big over the Parkland Sharks 16-2.
The Palm Beach Marlins fired up the offense in the first inning, when Edinson Renteria grounded into a double play, but still managed to knock in one run.
The Palm Beach Marlins scored six runs in the fifth inning. Edgar Perez, Renteria, and Sean Bencosme each drove in runs during the inning.
Richie Pena pitched the Palm Beach Marlins to victory. The bulldog allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four. Jonathan Ramallo and Luis Lopez entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Tyler Smith took the loss for the Parkland Sharks. Smith surrendered eight runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five.
Perez went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Palm Beach Marlins in hits. The Palm Beach Marlins didn’t commit a single error in the field. Michael Piulats had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
