The Parkland Sharks Head Coach & Director of Baseball Operations has more than 35 years experience in professional and collegiate level baseball. The summer of 2021 marked the first summer the Sharks were apart of the CLPB. That being said, Dan spent last season guiding the Sharks to a first place tie and playoff position before a Covid outbreak canceled the team’s post season.
Previously, he had spent ten seasons as a Head Coach in summer college leagues throughout the country. In those years his squads reached the playoffs seven times, including three championships series and winning two championships. He was named Coach of the Year twice, in 2010 (NYCBL) and 2015 (PGCBL). Twenty eight of his players have gone on to play professional baseball.
Dan had previously spent 16 seasons as a Manager for independent league ballclubs. He led his teams to 12 playoff appearances and three championships. More than a dozen of his players were signed by MLB organizations.
Shwam spent his first five seasons coaching with the Salt Lake Trappers, who won two titles during his stay. He has also spent time as a scout for the Florida Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers.
